StrumTree Refunds and Cancellation Policy
We want StrumTree to be a stress-free experience. Here’s how refunds and cancellations work.
- First Class Guarantee
If you attend your first class and it wasn’t what you expected, you can receive a full refund of your term fee, as long as you cancel before your second class starts. After the second class has commenced, this guarantee no longer applies. - Unforeseen Life Circumstances
If you need to withdraw during a term due to unforeseen circumstances (e.g. illness, family emergency, relocation or major work changes), the remaining unused weeks of your term can be transferred as a credit to a future term or another StrumTree class, subject to availability.
Credits are not redeemable for cash, but may be transferred to a family member or friend with our approval. - Cancellations Before the Term Starts
If you cancel before the first class of the term:
- More than 3 days before the start date: you may choose a full refund or a full credit towards a future term.
- Within 3 days of the start date: you may receive a credit towards a future term, depending on whether we can fill your place.
- Missed Classes
Missed classes are generally non-refundable. Where possible, we may offer a make-up class in another group during the same term, or provide practice materials so you can keep up, but this is not guaranteed. - Classes Cancelled by StrumTree
If StrumTree has to cancel a class (for example due to low enrolments, teacher illness or venue issues), each student will be offered:
- A refund for the value of that class, and
- A free private Zoom lesson with a StrumTree tutor to catch up on class content
If an entire term is cancelled, you will be offered a full refund or a full credit towards another class or future term.
- Behaviour
StrumTree reserves the right to remove a participant from a class if their behaviour seriously disrupts the group or makes others feel unsafe. In serious cases, no refund may be issued. In other cases, a partial credit may be offered at our discretion. - Requesting a Refund or Credit
